Vegetable Notes -
Updated 7/16/10 - Summer is here! We are picking sweet corn (yellow and bi-color. Tomatoes are ready. We are starting to pick a lot of zucchini and peppers. "Stuckmeyer Sweets" (onions) have been harvested and were cured (naturally) on our farm. They are available in the market. We are making trips to Campbell, Missouri and Kennett, Missouri for peaches, watermelons and cantaloupes. Peaches from Campbell are now free-stone. They have a wonderful taste again this year. We are also starting to get Eckert peaches in the market. If you are looking for a good watermelon or cantaloupe, they are really nice this year. We also are carrying the hard to find "Black Diamond" watermelons.
